    • Join the British Bee Count 2018

At Giles Gallery we love bees. We are lucky enough to have outdoor spaces to make into Bee havens, so we’re trying our hardest to plant as many bee friendly flowers as we can (including the clematis and the lavender plants outside the gallery!).

      But there’s also a ‘bigger picture’…

Join the bee survey from 17 May to 30 June 2018, and discover how to help bumblebees and solitary bees this summer. Friends of the Earth’s free app will help you identify and record different species. You’ll also get a handy bee-friendly plant guide, and tips for creating pollinator habitats.

There’ve been some great wins recently for bees, including a European ban on bee-harming Neonicotinoids. But wild bees aren’t safe yet – they still face many threats, including habitat loss, intensive farming and climate change.

Joining the Great British Bee Count is a great way to learn about bees – and to help experts learn more about how our bees are faring.

Thousands of your verified bee sightings will contribute to the national Pollinator Monitoring Scheme – the  first comprehensive health check of Britain’s bees and other pollinators.
